What you should know about INTEX ® Biotech AG

INTEX was founded in Basel in the 1990s with the purpose of manufacturing and developing pharmaceutical, immunological and medical diagnostic products.

In the beginning, we worked for the company Ho!mann-la Roche. Subsequently, the production ofHuman Menopausal Gonadotropin for the pharmaceutical company Serono was a major and successful challenge for us. With the Serono HMG production, we entered the pharmaceutical production sector.

The good economic background gave us the opportunity for a complete entry into the development of point of care (rapid diagnostics). Some key researchers from Roche Diagnostics joined our INTEX team. All diagnostic products (except CRP with down-flow technology) are produced with lateral flow technology.

We were able to register the diagnostics products with the following institutions as early as 2003:

Swissmedic (CH), Regierungspräsidium Freiburg (EU Registration), OGYI (Hungary)

All registrations were processed in accordance with EU Directive 98/7679EG – including the declaration of conformity. We have been certified as complying with GMP guidelines for production.

Our loyal customers include various well-known private and university clinics, various major distributors and a number of medical practices in Switzerland and Germany. Validations have taken place.

In 1998, INTEX received an innovation award for exemplary diagnostics development from the state of Baden-Württemberg, named after Dr. Rudolf Eberle. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious awards in Germany.

There is intensive collaboration in research and development with the Molecular Biology Institute at the University of Basel. The purpose is continuous quality control and the development of new tests.
